Tuscany

Finally, here is my post about spring break! I know that it happened a few weeks ago, but I thought I should still post it since I went to some pretty cool places and really enjoyed my time in them. First we went to Florence for a couple of days and then to Pisa to see the leaning tower. Here are some photos from the trip!

The trees were absolutely gorgeous and were everywhere!

We decided to hike up a hill and this was what we found.

There was vegetation everywhere, which was my favorite part about the area. We saw this on our way to dinner one night.

Duomo

This is the smaller replica of the Statue of David in the square where it originally stood. Of course, we saw the real one and Shelby snuck some photos so if you wanna see them, you'll have to look at her blog post from spring break!

We stumbled upon this great open market and this boar was in front of it. None of us knew what it was for, but the crowd seemed to love it and his snout has clearly been touched many times.

The walk along the river.

There were actual stores on the bridge. I had never seen anything like this, it was one of the very cool, unique things that I liked about Florence.

Pisa was a lot less crowded than Florence and the weather was perfect that day.

The sky was actually this blue.
We looked pretty silly trying to take the 'tourist' photos

Obligatory leaning tower photos.

Barcelona

The first full day we were in Barcelona we went on a city tour and got to learn some really cool stuff about the city and let me tell you, Barcelona is a crazy town!

In the Gothic Quarter of town there were tiles on the buildings of some streets that told stories of the people that lived their hundreds of years ago.

While walking through the tour, our guide warned us of the lady on the third floor who liked to throw buckets of water on tours that were noisy. One time she threw rotten oranges at one of the guides.

The cafe and part of town that many famous people apparently stay around. Unfortunately we didn't have any starstruck moments.

In this church the ceiling has red, blue, and yellow colors for none other than the Barcelona Football team. For these people, football and religion are one in the same.

Placa de Catalonya

Beach photos!

We went to the magic fountain where they do a 30 minute lights and music show every night.

Hot chocolate and churro. The hot chocolate is more like pudding and the churro don't have cinnamon, just sugar. We were told to dip the churro in the hot chocolate and it did not disappoint!

Whenever this place was open, it was packed with hardly and walking room!

Easter Sunday

We went down by the sea and got some fresh-made paella. This was one of my favorite meals there.

La Sagrada Familia. Although Gaudi has already passed away, work on his masterpiece will continue until 2026, when it will finally be completed.

Euromania at 100 Montaditos! Tapas and Sangria!

We weren't sure what this cat had to do with anything, but it was marked on our map so we thought we should snap a photo when we happened upon it!
